My seller was one day from closing when Chris at Association One pulled out all the stops to get the documents we needed in order to close on time. He saved the day and we were (and still are) so grateful for his efforts.

This review is specific to Jake from maintenance. It was discovered there was a lack of heating fins to keep one of the bedrooms warm. Jake installed them professionally and this helps to keep the room warmer, especially in winter. What was equally impressive as his technical abilities was his professional demeanor, sincerity, keeping me up to date on progress, and explaining things thoroughly in a way a lay person can understand. Jake is highly recommended.

I recently had an experience that completely changed my opinion of this property management company. There was a water line rupture between my unit and my neighbor’s, and they handled the situation quickly and professionally. The repairs were taken care of without delays, which I really appreciated during a stressful situation. Additionally, I had fallen behind on my HOA dues, and the CEO personally reached out to discuss it. The conversation was respectful, professional, and solution-oriented. He addressed my concerns directly and worked with me to come to a fair agreement, which showed a level of care and accountability you don’t always see. Overall, I was impressed with how responsive and professional they were, and I appreciate the way they handled both the emergency and the follow-up communication.

I have worked with Association One for several years and from the senior staff of Brian Borchardt & Carl McElroy, to property managers like Marsha Craft & Todd Klohn, maintenance and other support staff, everyone conducts their duties with integrity, care for their customers and communication is never an issue. Association One has been a true partner and it's has been a pleasure working with them.

AssociationOne and Property Manager, Todd Klohn, in particular, have given our HOA a much needed compass for helping direct our affairs in serving our ownership. Todd is proactive, organized, reliable, knowledgeable and trustworthy in his work on our behalf. His fellow colleagues are cut from the same mold as they support Todd and our HOA, accordingly. I have no reservation in recommending AssociationOne for other HOA Boards who need HOA direction.

Services That Cover What Actually Matters

Here's what sets Association One apart from those corporate management companies that treat your community like just another account in their system.

  • 24/7 Emergency Response – Because pipes burst and trees fall when it's most inconvenient, and you shouldn't have to be the one fielding those panicked calls
  • Local Market Expertise – We know Maple Grove, understand Hennepin County requirements, and maintain relationships with contractors who actually show up
  • Transparent Financial Management – Monthly reports you can understand without an accounting degree, plus real oversight that prevents "creative" bookkeeping
  • Technology That Works – Online portals, digital payments, and communication tools that make life easier instead of more complicated
  • Vendor Management & Oversight – Professional bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and quality control so you're not overpaying for mediocre work

Financial Management That Builds Trust

Nothing erodes community confidence faster than murky finances. Residents want to know where their dues go, board members need accurate budgets for planning, and everyone deserves protection against fraud or mismanagement.

  • Monthly Financial Statements – that actually make sense, with clear categorization and year-over-year comparisons
  • Budget Development — based on realistic projections, not wishful thinking or last year's numbers with a percentage added
  • Reserve Study Coordination — so you're not caught flat-footed when the roof needs replacing
  • Collections Management — that's firm but fair, following Minnesota law while protecting your community's cash flow
  • Audit Preparation — organized records that make annual reviews smooth instead of stressful

Property Services That Protect Your Investment

Your community's curb appeal directly impacts every homeowner's property value. That's not just marketing talk, it's reality. When common areas look neglected, home values suffer. When maintenance gets deferred, small problems become expensive emergencies.

  • Preventive Maintenance Scheduling – Regular inspections and upkeep that catch problems before they escalate
  • Vendor Coordination – Managing landscapers, snow removal, pool maintenance, and specialized contractors
  • Quality Control – We verify work meets standards so you're not paying for subpar service
  • Project Management – From roof replacements to playground updates, we handle the details
  • Emergency Response – Rapid coordination when storms, equipment failures, or other crises hit

Why Choose Association One?

Real Support for Minnesota Communities

Managing an HOA in Maple Grove comes with specific challenges that a company based three states away won't understand. Winter maintenance coordination isn't optional here, it's critical. Snow removal, ice management, and freeze-thaw damage aren't abstract concepts; they're recurring line items that need proper planning and reliable contractors.
We live and work in this market. Our team knows which vendors deliver quality work at fair prices and which ones make big promises then disappear. We understand Minnesota's statutory requirements for HOA operations, from election procedures to disclosure obligations. When state law changes—and it does—we're already implementing updates while other companies are still reading the memo.

But here's what really matters: we measure our success by your satisfaction. Not by how many associations we manage or how big we can grow. When your residents are happy, your property values stay strong, and your board members aren't dreading the next term, that's when we know we're doing our job right. One community at a time, with the attention and professionalism you deserve.

Happy family within the HOA community

Common Questions about HOA Management

Transitions typically take 60-90 days depending on your community's size and complexity. We've refined our transition process to minimize disruption, accessing financial accounts, establishing vendor relationships, and implementing communication systems while maintaining seamless service to residents. Your dedicated transition team handles the heavy lifting so your board can focus on normal community operations.

Most management contracts are annual and include notice periods (typically 60-90 days), but you can initiate a transition at any point. We work with communities switching mid-year regularly. The process requires coordination around financial cutoffs and document transfers, but it's absolutely doable when the current management relationship isn't working.

Call 1-833-737-8663 anytime, day or night. You'll reach trained professionals who can authorize emergency repairs, contact vendors, and coordinate responses, not an answering service that takes messages. We respond 24/7 with our in-house maintenance staff.

Efficient systems and technology reduce time spent on routine tasks, allowing our staff to focus on value-added services. Our regional structure spreads overhead costs across multiple communities, giving you access to specialized expertise without paying for full-time specialists. And our vendor relationships often yield better pricing than individual communities can negotiate on their own. Premium service doesn't require premium pricing, it requires smart operations.

Timeliness, transparency, and clarity. You receive monthly financial statements on time and they are formatted for readability, not just compliance. Income and expense reports connect to budget line items with plain-language explanations of variances. Reserve studies include actionable recommendations, not just replacement schedules. And you can access financial data digitally whenever you need it, without requesting special reports. Good financial management starts with information that boards and homeowners can actually understand and use.
